Ce morceau là deviendra alors une boite ronde.
Livia Spinga

(These little pieces will become a wall. For this box I need to make a cup. It will need a spoon).

Stoneware, glaze, 2021
10 x 12 cm

Livia Spinga investigates, she is located between the practice of pottery and a commentary of this craft that fascinates her. For this set of pieces, she took as a starting point forms from the pottery repertoire. Livia Spinga has deconstructed, repeated and supported her gestures and their errors to deduce ornaments. What she likes about this dynamic is that one gesture leads to another. One object leads to another. For example: a cup is made, debris is left on the table, it will probably end up in the box that will surround this cup. Or a box is built to compose an exploded view of the gestures of the spoon it protects. Or, nail strokes fill a box.
The pieces follow one another and invite us to tell stories at different scales, a process, the relationship of two spoons, the invention of a use, the journey of a small piece of glazed clay.

Livia Spinga is a ceramic artist, she graduated from the Master of ceramics of the ENSAV La Cambre in Brussels, she installed her workshop in Ardeche, in the south of France.
